Ms Dalia Elfadl is a Consultant Oncoplastic and Reconstructive Breast Surgeon. Her NHS practice is based at West Middlesex University Hospital, Chelsea & Westminster NHS Foundation Trust. Her private practice is at the Chiswick HCA diagnostic centre and the Lister Hospital in Chelsea.
Ms Elfadl obtained her medical degree in Sudan, and began surgical training at the Yorkshire School of Surgery, before continuing with higher surgical training in London.
She gained advanced experience at specialist breast centres such as The Royal Marsden Hospital, Imperial College NHS Trust, and Guy’s & St Thomas’ breast units, in addition to a travelling fellowship to a breast Plastic Surgery unit in France, funded by the British Association of Surgical Oncology.
She carried out research into breast cancer and resistance to therapy (radiotherapy and chemotherapy), culminating in obtaining a postgraduate MD degree. She presented her research in Europe andthe USA, and published in peer reviewed medical journals. She continues to contribute to research, with paper presentations and publications.
Ms Elfadl is passionate about treating patients with breast disease, both benign breast conditions, and breast cancer. As part of her substantive consultant job at the NHS, she is lead for undergraduate medical education within her department, and spends time regularly training medical students at Imperial Medical School, and younger surgeons. She regularly audits her practice, in addition to contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement.
