Dr Randa Akel

Dr Akel is a Consultant Dermatologist working at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust across both hospital sites, West Middlesex University Hospital and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.

She is part of the vulval service’s multidisciplinary team and also supports the work of the Lady Garden Club, a patient led-support group for women with vulval conditions. She also leads the paediatric vulval dermatology service.

Dr Akel trained in Medicine and Dermatology at The American University of Beirut and was elected to the American Alpha Omega Alpha (AΩA) Honor Medical Society. After completing her training, she was awarded the Diana Tamari Sabbagh Advanced Fellowship Award to train in vulval dermatology at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London.

Her clinical interests include adult and paediatric dermatology, genital skin disease, menopause, anti-aging skin care, and transgender dermatology. Dr Akel is involved in dermatology, gynaecology, menopause, and sexual health trainee teaching and research including clinical trials.
